I have this little fun DIY project to share with you guys especially with Valentine's day approaching. But I am sure that you don't say "I love you" to your dear ones just once a year, so this can be handy every time you want to say it in a little more special way. :)
Here's what you'll need and how to do it:
First, measure your paper and cut it into 3 pieces ( I used a 8x5 inches/ 300g watercolor paper). Then fold the paper pieces in 2.

Combine 1-2 cups of water and 1 tsp of gouache or watercolor paint then stir. Insert the folded paper in the colored water. Let it dry.

You can create stronger layers of color by adding from time to time a little more gouache color in the water. Use the paint brush to create new layers.

Let it dry and repeat as desired.

When all the color layers are done and dried, cut the angles of the card and the middle top so that it will form a geometric heart shape. After you're done the note cards are ready to write on! :)

Hope you'll enjoy this! Have fun! xo

ReplyDeleteDid you use that nib to write that calligraphy? I'm really impressed with your thick/think lines without a flatter nib? Lovely!

ReplyDeleteGood idea! I have a lot of Gouache tubes left over from an art class I took, and I'm always wondering what else I can do with it besides use it strictly as matte-opaque paint. This has inspired me to get crafting and be creative!
