Ink doodling + lettering

Ink doodling + lettering Ink doodling + lettering Ink doodling + lettering I've started practicing (bits of) calligraphy a few years ago, encouraged by a talented friend of mine Penni.  Although I truly enjoy it, I haven't been very persistent (practice, practice...).  So I am no expert and I have a lot to learn but I simply love 'drawing' all the letters and creating new shapes while incorporating some of my illustrations.  And sometimes I wish there were more than 24 hours a day!!  :)
Here are a few of my recent doodles, ink accidents and lettering.  It's all fun!  Happy Friday to you!

I have a little inspiration board on Pinterest if you would like to follow along.

  1. I was just telling my husband last week that I wanted to learn to do calligraphy. My grandpa did it years ago and I used to watch him like it was magic he was putting on paper. Your work is very lovely - you have a real gift.

  3. You are so incredibly talented. Seriously. Your lettering is perfection.
I love calligraphy as well. I haven't done it for ages, but I used to just sit and write out phrases just for fun with my calligraphy pens.

  8. they look lovely Oana! I studied calligraphy in college for about 4 years, it is one of my many passions! It does require quite a bit of practice. My teacher used to make us practice alphabets on 4 poster sized sheets of paper a week. I haven't practiced in a while but just a couple weeks ago I picked up some new nibs, so hopefully I will be getting something done soon:)

  21. I design custom wedding invitations; would you ever be for-hire to do the guests' addresses if a bride were to want that? This lettering is really beautiful. Email me if so. :)
