KIDDO TEE // a DIY blog series + free printable

kiddo tee I just got this new little DIY project done, but my little model didn't really want to sit still today for the camera! :)  I hope that you will enjoy this new project.  There are many ways that you can create the t-shirt, you can even use the supplies from the last Kiddo Tee project if you wish, but here is how I did it this time.
supplies You will need the following:
~ a blank tee
THIS cat outline printable
~ a thinner thread for the head, ears and eyes of the kitty,
~ thicker thread for the nose, mouth and the whiskers,
felt,
needles, I used 2 sizes for the two types of thread,
scissors, I used the small nail scissor for the cat's ears and eyes.
steps 1,2
Steps 1 & 2:  Cut the outline of the kitty, lay it over the piece of felt and cut around it.  Carefully cut around the eyes and the interior of the ears. steps 3,4
Steps 3 & 4:  Center the cat's "head" (it sounds weird.. oh well) on the tee and start sewing around the outline, then attach the eyes.
steps 5,6
Steps 5 & 6:  Start sewing the nose with the thicker thread, then sew the mouth line and whiskers.

Then your Kiddo Tee should be ready to go! :)

  5. I love it! It looks so cool and what a gorgeous free printable template too. I will be making a cat toy soon and will be inspired by this.

I've often wanted to put felt appliqué on my son's clothes but have been concerned that it wouldn't be washable. Have you tried washing this? (Apologies for the very prosaic question!)
